First of all, English is not my mother language, so please forgive my mistakes…
Old Boat…Photo has been taken on one of my days off, which I’ve got only one per week.At same day it was my fathers b’day, and I felt a bit sad, because few month ago my father had an hart-attack, and I was not there to assist to him by anything. He recovered thx God. This day was his b’day and also I was not there to wish him a happy b’day. To have a lunch with him, to sit, have some coffee and talk no sense, but just to be there.
So i was sitting on the deck next to the creek, thinking about above mentioned, about life, about family and so. At that time this boat showed up.
Was looking beautiful. Old but beautiful. Reminded my about one old guy back home, the guy who was all his life waiting in front of one shop for someone to buy stuff, and that old guy carried this stuff to buyers home for some tips. And all tips he spent at same evening in same shop to buy few beers. Probably you had similar old guy back home. He was just a carrier for rich, or less rich people. But he has always good stories to tell you. It was always very interesting to listen this old guy.
So this boat was actually some old guy. This boat was carrier for some rich guy. Rich guy called Dubai. This boat carried everything you buy in grocery today. Food, water, equipment. This old guy, boat, brought old that to some rich guy, to Dubai, and the truth is, rich guy Dubai would never survive without old guys. Imagine just what kind of stories this boat, old guy, could tell us. How many sea storms he survived, how many waves he fight, how many nights he was under sky full of stars. What is his adventure. He is maybe older that old guy from my place. Maybe older than all of of together.
But the sad part of all that is that rich guy Dubai never mentioned this old guy, who means life for him, to anyone. But rich guy Dubai always mention and stress some other guys, expensive and luxury yachts in Marina yacht parking. They are important. But why? What good they have done. Nothing much actually. But that’s life. Someone working hard and never gets any credits. Other side, someone is just showing off and collect all credits for nothing.
Like old boat, we all went so far from home, missing our family b’days, happy and sad moments to earn something called money. But still, the old guy will always have better stories than us. Long nights under sky full of stars.
And it will always be beautiful, doesn’t matter how old is he.
